Hi Shaun,
I recommend you obtain a copy of the questionnaires completed by ex POW at the end of the war which gives very interesting facts and information on their life as POWs during the war and these questionnaires are held at the National Archives. I'm afraid they are not available to view online so you'll have to pay to obtain a copy or if you're able to visit then you can get it free.
