Pte James Harold Herrin (1892 - 29 Sept 1917) Regiment No: 28489 of Grenadier Guards 2nd Bn. According to records, he died, aged 25, of wounds.
and
Pte Albert Edward Herrin (1899 - 1 Feb 1919) Regiment No: 41930 of Leicestershire Regiments. Company WO 329.
Both were killed at France and Flanders. Both were awarded British War Medal and Victory Medal.
I have a photo of them, one was wearing South Staffordshire Regiment uniform and the other had a plain badge on the front of his cap. Were they both first in South Staffordshire Regiment before being transferred to other regiments?
Would it be possible to find out what were their roles during their time spent in the Army and how they got killed?
