If you click on the link on BCC you will see a photo of my granddad in his army uniform. I have been trying to no avail to find out his army record. Does any one have access to Military records ?

FMP has this one

Williams Frank 1896 — 1914 British Army Service Records 1914-1920 Cradley, Worcestershire, England

I can't find him on Ancestry. I know it says Cradley, but might be worth checking.

Hi Rob,

I'm confident from your Grandfather''s picture he is in the Training Reserve and check this link for further information:
www.1914-1918.net/training_reserve.htm

If you check the photo of the soldier you will note the same cap badge as your Grandfather and it also mentions the missing TR shoulder badge. Your Grandfather does have the TR shoulder badge and I suspect the photo was taken at basic training camp.

I'll check further but some information to go on.

Kind regards
Adrian
