Hello, I'm new here. Carol was kindly asking about Albert Henry Channon on my behalf.
Albert was my great great grandfather.

Here he is in his RFA uniform

I have all the family history information on him, and yes Jimmy you have found the right man. His father did indeed work as a Dairyman in West Ham, his mother was Minnie Matilda Davis. He married Rose Maud Moxley (Morley must be a misread entry by whoever put the records where you found them).

The entry for a Thomas Robert Channon is a red herring, that isn't a match to anyone in my tree that I'm aware of. Albert Henry's father was definitely Albert from Rockebeare, Devon, and Albert's father was Sidney Channon (or at least that's what we believe since on Albert's birth certificate no father was listed and was named Albert Brown, taking his mothers maiden name as he was born out of wedlock).

What I was really looking for is any information about Albert Henry Channon's military career as I haven't been able to find anything other than his medal roll card with the details that Carol posted above. If anyone can find anything about where he might of served or with which regiment etc, I'd be very interested.

That's a shame, but not unexpected. I've hit a wall with this one. I'd love to know where he served and what he might have been involved in.

Hello....i dont know too much, but looking at the card I'd say rank is either brigadier or bombardier (Bdr) and under that Cpl, corporal?

And if where it says RFA/4/A-B is what I'm thinking...maybe he was in 4th division, a and b batteries?

The only reason I'm thinking that is that I recently accidentally found my grandad in the RFA as a driver in 5th division A batterry
