translation
What a lovely night it is,
What a many stars,
What a lovely grate you have got,
What a many bars,
I have been a courting,
Didn't you know,
I told your father'
Didn't he tell you.
Didn't you know,
I told your father didn't he tell you

Ha! ha! powerj
I very often say " I would if I could, but I can't, so I shan't, so I won't"
I just thought perhaps it was something I'd made up as a kid :?
