Hi,

I have parish records for Swinford Regis from 1603 and was wondering which area did it cover and under which church?

I've tried looking up old maps from that era to no avail and all I got was the wording that Swinford Regis used to be adjacent to Old Swinford, but on which side?

Hoping someone will have the answers or even better have a link to an actual map?

Hi

Swinford Regis seems to be the old name for Kingswinford https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/STS/Kingswinford

There is a map of the parish here https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/STS/K ... /ParishMap though it might have been a bit different in the 1600s

It explains about the parish church here http://www.blackcountryhistory.org/coll ... B145_PR24/ It is rather confusing! but seems to have been St Mary's by 1678 at least. http://kingswinford.com/kingswinford/kfordhistory.htm "St. Mary's Church, Kingswinford, parts of the tower date back to the 11th century. It remained the church of the huge parish of Kingswinford until it was threatened by mining activities in 1831. It re-opened in 1846 to serve a much smaller parish."

Old Swinford is to the south of Kingswinford https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/WOR/Oldswinford and also has a St Mary's :-)
