I have several ancestors who lived in Oldbury and I am wondering if anyone knows if it changed counties at any point and if so when. Sometimes it shows as Worcestershire and sometimes as Staffordshire when I am doing research on Ancestry.

Yep, I think some or all? of 1841 census was in Shropshire (Salop)
I forget too, but think something was classed West Bromwich?
Really the answer is, yes it changed boundaries at some point or other. :)

Yes. Oldbury was Shropshire and the Worcestershire, whereas Dudley was Worcestershire and then much later Staffordshire :-)

I have had a look at the links and looked again at the family on my Ancestry tree. I am looking at Joseph Round and family and Mary Pickerel and family (Pickerel spelt several different ways). The 19th Century makes sense as as they are in Shropshire in 1828, Olbury by Halesowen, Shropshire in 1841, Worcestershire in 1851 and 1861. I do also have them in Worcestershire in 1754 and 1789. These are all on either census or birth/marriage/death records found on Ancestry. No doubt more permutations will turn up as I do more research.
