OUR GUIDE to ENGLAND - Please Read!

Map of English Counties

Ay Up! alreet! :grin:

We thought it would be a great idea to try and show all the
Regional Accents/ local Dialects plus the recipes and food of that area.
All going into the big mixing pot that makes our Country the Great Britain it truly is!

This will be by COUNTY and then these categories.....

REGIONAL ALPHABET -a-z of words in that dialect

REGIONAL SAYINGS and or PHRASES

REGIONAL SPEECH- actual recordings of speech or song in that particular accent/dialect

REGIONAL RECIPES- local fayre and delicacies

PARISH REGISTER

COUNCIL WEB SITES

So please post your words, sayings recordings of speech/accent (clean ones mind!) and recipes for a particular county.
We will then incorporate your post into that section.
Building up a picture of life across the counties.
From the spoken word to the last word in local cusine!

so any .....

Sayings
Recipes
egs of the actual Accent/Dialect
Dictionary/alphabet eg S is for Scran as for Liverpool in Lancs.

Post em and we will add them

please check out some of the counties for genealogy links as i have been updating them with the latest online parish clerks
