Help needed

Postby susietwo » Wed Jun 15, 2011 12:30 am

Hi my name is Sue a friend of Hopes, and I would like to trace my family. I have started and found my Grandmothers parents and also found that she had 6 brothers, i knew she had a sister but they have come as a surprise. The only certificates I have are my grandmothers death certificate and my mothers wedding & death certificate. Hoping you will be able to point me in the right direction, thanks Sue

Hello Sue - welcome to the forum

The best place to start is your mother's marriage certificate, this will give the names of your mom's and dad's fathers.

Can you post the marriage details here - bearing in mind that we can't show details on the forum of anyone who is still living.

That's great Sue

So now we know that the marriage took place in 1941 -

Edward was born around 1913 and his father is Arthus John Mervis Perry
Evelyn May Higgins was born around 1920 and her father is Thomas Higgins

On the GRO birth indexes, after 1912 - the mother's maiden name is shown

See if you can find Edward and Evelyn on FreeBMD. We don't yet know where they were born, but it's a safe bet starting with Birmingham - we might then be able to find their parents' marriage

It's the birth's we are looking for
of Thomas Edward Perry, abt 1913 and and Evelyn May Higgins abt 1920

Once we have these births then we can look for their parents marriages

If you go back to the above and click on the 21, it will then open up and give you other names.
Just trying to do my bit for BCC, bringing families back together.

Susie did you copy all info down as your missing mothers maiden names as they are included for all births after 1911
