Viewing Certificate information

Is it possible to view the information from a certificate, dates, full names, ages, etc. without purchasing the certificate.
If there are 2 or 3 possible names come up in a search you do not want to purchase the ones that may not be what you are looking for.

Hi
It isn't possible to view civil registration certificates without purchasing them. It is sometimes possible to add information and try to avoid buying a certificate that is wrong. If you know the father's occupation for example then you can supply that and only buy a birth certificate that fits.
If a marriage took place in a church then you may be able to look at the church register which will have the same information as the civil record.
Church records can be seen for free at certain archives, it depends a bit if you are researching locally or not. An increasing amount is on the internet so if you can get to a library with a subscription to ancestry (for example) then you can can find some church records on there in the form of scanned images.
