You're unlikely to get much useful info from anyone else, as information that recent isn't widely available in the public domain. Your best bet in the first instance is to obtain a copy of your father's birth certificate. To do this, you'll need to find the certificate reference. You can do this online at
1837online.
Once you've got the reference, you can order the certificate online via the
GRO website.
The certificate will then show parent's names.
To go beyond that, you'll probably have to find your grandparent's marriage, which will give approximate dates of birth, and you can repeat the whole birth certificate process again to find great grandparents names. Once you're back that far, you'll begin to be able to find names in censuses and other online indices.
