Speak Softly at all times

Postby Northern Lass » Mon Dec 28, 2009 6:27 pm

I am partaking of an amusement on the screen which broadcasts
a delightful array of entertainment for one's palette, and wondered what you and I did afore
it arrived.

Thus I thought it would be beneficial to have discourse with all my good friends and like minded folk,
in the manner of a wholesome and erudite dialogue, a reflection of the manners and sentiments of times past
and to see how such a discourse would manifest itself.

:grin

It has always been a sentiment of mine that to propagate a thought delibertately takes a number of grey cells

that being the case
Peter perhaps I might trouble you to engage in a dictionary before you partake of this dialogue

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

I am disappointed Peter at what I can only imagine is your deliberate obtuseness ( is that a word)
In all mannner of things you have such a desire for fulfillement, may I be so bold, as to suggest that an application of verbosity in fundamental speech would both engage and enlighten fellow like minded individuals such as yourself, and thus unlock a veritable feast
of semantics for our delight.

Please do not approach this wantonly but embrace it with a passion to recapture our ancestors tongue

In short let us enter into a thread, If I may use that colloquialism ( can't spell that) and begin a journey of soft speech and delight in a turn of phrase and meaning long past and forgotten

Yours Winnie
oops sorry
Northern lady

Spread the glad tidings that it will not disappoint Winnie's many admirers. Judging from the e-mails I've received from obviously feeble-minded persons who do so wish I would write a preface, it ought to sell like hot cakes. I think myself I ought to be shot for writing such nonsense, but it's questionably good escapist literature and I think I should rather like it if I were sitting in an air-raid shelter, or recovering from flu. Its period detail would be good; my spouse says it's witty---and without going to these lengths, I will say that it is very good fun.

Pray Robert good friend what are you about?
Are you one with the sentiment or do you perceive as others it is just idle folly.
I am vexed by the constraints of the urban dialogue and wish to retreat to a more liberated return
to sensibility and manners

I too am abhored by the lack of dialogue in today's world and i have a yearning to return to old fashioned values.
An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to
the broader concerns of all humanity.

I will not retialiate with protestations of deeper meanings on that which should touch our very soul.
Let me be plain, for I do feel that utterances without fact are more despicable than to falsify from revenge.
The English language is a marvellous and fluid vehicle for endearing a feeling of well being to our fellow man.
Thus let us engage and fortify ourselves on the very liquor of its heady undertones and intoxication

Get with it guys!!
