He was my Black Country grandparents' favourite entertainer and, despite them never going to the theatre or being interested in music, they always went to see him in panto at the Birmingham Hippodrome.
Currently investigating the Hillmans of Sussex.

Sad news. He sold more than 16 million records of which i bought a couple and he was part of the Bill when Buddy Holly and The Crickets toured the UK in 1958.
