Here are brothers and sisters of Grandma Henrietta Bate nee Tooth in age order
Albert married Edith not sure of last name Selena (Len) married Joseph Bate Ethel married Patrick -not sure of last name henrietta (Hetty) married John Thomas Bate May married Luther Tibbetts
The census also shows youngetst as Eliza but think this may be May as May not mentioned Census shows Selina,Henrietta and Eliza all born in Somerville Boston USA. Albert born West Bromwhich. Census also shows another child who has died but nothing known of this -Dad had no idea of another child.
Dates of birth not known but estimates from census as follows Albert 1888 Selina 1890 Eliza 1899
Thank you Jimmy and NL, Catching up on this thread now-excellent -thank you for your hard work. I rememebr spending hours in the past looking for Albert. This is certainly him born in West Bromwhich-this makes perfect sense with existing census info. Checked with Dad and Albert did marry an Edith-spot on again. I will have to add Stourbridge to my list of places now-know nothing about this but now have 2 marriages over there.

Your connection is correct and ties up my census anomaly. Eliza May Tooth explains the known name of May (Big May) and the census name of Eliza with the absence of May-perfect fit.
Eliza May Tooth was sister to my Grandma Henrietta Bate nee Tooth and married Luther Tibbetts-the Tibbetts family who lived at Pear Tree Cottage in Powke Lane Blackheath with Joey the Goose (just for Rob )
Thank you NL- sad about Ethel _ presume she was first child for Selina and would be named after Ethel her sister.
APOLOGY- sorry I having been getting muddled telling tales-the double wedding was not Henrietta Tooth/ John Thomas Bate with Selana Tooth and Joseph Bate. It is correct that 2 sisters married 2 brothers but not on the same day. I don't when Selina married Joseph.
The double wedding my grandma had was with another sister. It is the Eliza May Tooth and Luther Tibbetts mentioned on the Tooth thread who married on the same day as Henrietta/John
My family ios so confusing!!!!
I will go back and edit my original post so people don't get misled.
Thanks NL for marriage refs-they all look good. The earlier one 1914 tiels in for birth of first child in 1916. Henrietta's brothers and sisters were Bert, Lena,Ethel (Henrietta) and May so there were 4 girls and one boy.
