Postby Barb » Mon Dec 01, 2008 3:04 pm

Hello All,

Is Aston in the Black Country? My Grandad, Harold Reginald Weston, was born in Aston on 20 Sep 1898 and died on 28 Dec 1960 in the Memorial Chest Hospital, Hartford Hill, Hatton, Warwickshire. Harold married Elsie Mary Rosetta Dingley from Malt Mill Lane.

Harold.s dad, Samuel Henry Weston, was born on 4 Mar 1877 in Wolvehapton, which I think IS in the Black Country! which is good 'cos Sam married, Alice Maria Pratt on 11 Apr 1898, also in Wolverhampton. Alice Maria Pratt was born abt 1869 in Bimingham

Alice's mum was Ann Yen, who was born about 1838, in Darleston, and her dad was Edward Pratt, born on 11 May 1835 also in Birmingham.

Is anyone else tracing the Yen family which I know nothing about.

I hope that I've put this message on the right forum board - I'm still feeling my way around, and apologise for any blunders that I make!!

Hi Barb well not really Aston is not in the Black country
:?
but if this post is for the purpose of adding to the connections tree then dont worry .

and Wolverhampton is in the black country well it is as far as I am concerned.
If you go to the Black country history section there is some info on maps and some of the towns....incomplete at the moment...
but the map links give you a good idea

So now do you want these added
and then next question do you need any info on this lot that we can chase for you?
Do you need the W'ton info?

and remember for the Connections tree just one ancestor needs to come from the bc it doesnt matter then where their ancestors or descendants come from.

ps are those Pratts related the Dingley one and this one?

so it looks like this marriage:
Silvester William Aston 6d 342
Yenn Susannah Ealce E Aston 6d 342

is Susanah's second marriage, her first being to a Yenn.

Susanah's birth is around 1832.
