I think they are the children of James and Phebe, but Edward is actually an ‘Edmund’. James may have died between 1851 and 1861, but then something funny goin’ on???

These are the earlier Nocks I have, they're connected with my Plant family. The "geographical" forenames Richmond, Dudley and Warwick are from the Plants, Comfort Plant had both a brother and an uncle named Richmond Plant. She had an aunt Comfort Plant who married a William Commander: their daughter Harriet Commander married (I think) a Jabez Adderley, hence perhaps the Elizabeth Adderley mentioned below. There are two possible James Nocks, one baptized 20 May 1711 Rowley Regis, son of Thomas Nock and Dinah, the other, more likely perhaps, baptized 18 July 1731, son of Joseph Nock and Hannah.

There is a record of a James Nock marrying a Mary Pearson on 29 November 1731 at Rowley Regis (IGI), but none of his marrying a Dorothy whose name is given as Cornelius Nock's mother at his christening. Perhaps the same woman, two Christian names??

Thanks for connecting up a whole lots of loose 'Nock's that I had floating about my tree! The only small quibble that I have is the Sarah Woodhouse who married William Nock in 1824. I think Sarah, daughter of Benjamin Woodhouse & Mary Thompson who was baptised in 1794 also died in 1794 ... Unless there was a second Sarah? I had William Nock's wife down as Sarah (1798), the daughter of John Woodhouse (brother to Benjamin) and Nancy Bradley???

This lot should give us a whole lot more twiglets and tendrils winding through our Connections tree
