I am working through unknowns on BCC to reduce if possible and tried first one and found it 100% so will insert it however
search came up with a further unknown one generation back:-
What I found was unknown Baker married Selina unknown and have found that this was Richard Baker married a Selina Tilley in Kings Norton 18 page 568 Dec. q.
this ties in with Census details 1851 to 1901 and so will fill in.
However I found that Richard Baker born 1829 was son of William Baker born RR in 1802 and Ann Unknown born RR 1805
Since it is RR it should be possible to trace Ann Unknown

Brilliant Mumbles you are a star!

Ok gonna re- title the heading Ann Unknown we can chase her down and then I will alter/complete the subject heading/ie surname
so that it makes searching easier in the archives!

Hi mumbles
How did you find Richard's parents?
I can't seem to find him on the 1841 census.

Here's a thing ...

In 1841 there are other ‘BAKER’s in Coatbridge, Old Monkland, Scotland, amongst a great collection of Iron workers, all from England:

James BAKER 20 Pudler of Iron
Jaomi BAKER 25
William BAKER 2
James BAKER 5
David COOPER 20 PUDLER :!:

Next door:
John GREEN 30 Roller
Elizabeth GREEN 30
Maryann GREEN 8
Elizabeth GREEN 6
John GREEN 2
Joseph GREEN 1 month born Scotland
Susannah HIPKISS 30 F.S.
Samuel GREEN 36 Pudler of Iron

There are also:
Charles BAKER 35
Joseph BAKER 30

These BAKER men are all of an age to possibly be brothers:
William b. abt 1805
Charles b. abt 1806
Joseph b. abt 1811
James b. abt 1821

But then, I might be barking up the wrong tree

think I have found her in 1841 with her grandparents Joseph Tilly and Nancy at Windmill end RRegis.

So it fits ....They have a son William b 1802

William Tilley - Male Birth: 05 DEC 1802 Rowley Regis, Stafford

other kids include a Richard b 1799

RICHARD TILLEY Christening: 15 MAY 1799 Rowley Regis, Stafford,
Father: JOSEPH TILLEY Mother: ANN
Extracted

William Tilley dies in 1838
1838
TILLEY William Rowley Regis Sandwell Register Office RR/1/209

So then in 1839 Ann Tilley ( married name- maiden name unknown) marries a James Parkes -
James is probably the brother of Ann Parkes -Ann Parkes who married William Baker.
That is how Selina got to know Richard Baker via his auntie Ann Tilley.
So they were step cousins?

I think that fits..... :?
