I would like to introduce myself

I joined a few days ago

I lived in Rowley Regis for until I got married and I've lived in Dudley since ever since

I am connected to the Cole family

David Cole b. abt. 1789 Rowley Regis was my gt gt gt gt grandfather

He married Charlotte Troman b. 1789 Rowley Regis (my 4times gt gran)

I am descended from Louisa Cole b. 1810 Rowley Regis who was sister of Sabra Cole b. abt 1826 Gosty Hill

I also have a connection through Sabra's husband Samuel Tromans b. 1821 Netherton

Their son Isaac Tromans b. 1854 Waterfall Lane married Phoebe Wharton b. 1853 Cockshuts, Halesowen. She was sister to my gt gran Elizabeth Wharton b. 1854 Cockshuts, Halesowen who was married to my gt grandad Thomas Cole b. 1854 Waterfall Lane

I have seen Sabra mentioned on this site

I have more info on Sabra's other siblings and a newspaper cutting of David Cole's tragic death if anyone's interested.

Ok think this needs clarifying confused :?

We have this marriage..
1878
TROMANS Isaac WESTON Phoebe Blackheath, St Paul Dudley Register Office 012/001/343

but then there is this one..

1872
WORTON Phoebe DAY John Dudley, St James Dudley Register Office 202/006/228

So did Isaac marry Phebe Weston? and not Wharton/Whorton/Worton

My connection to Phoebe Wharton (sister to my gt gran Elizabeth Wharton)

I found this marriage at the archives some time ago

I know it was difficult sometimes with the writing but I did fit her in with christenings and her parents names.

On the 1881 census disc I have they had transcribed her brother as John Wheston instead of Wharton.

On Free BMD she is down as Phoebe Werton

I have Wharton spelt as Warton, Worton, Whorton, Werton and Wherton.

The marriage record I've got is

26 Dec 1878 St Pauls, Blackheath

Isaac Tromans Occ. Chainmaker Blackheath Father Samuel Occ Chainmaker

Phoebe Wharton ( not sure which spelling was used) Occ. Nailer The Hill, Halesowen Father Edward (Dec)

Witnesses Eli & Ann Mogg

Ann Mogg was nee Ann Andrews who was sister to the husband of Sarah Wharton who was one of Phoebe's other sisters

Phoebe TROMAN Wife 27 Cockshutts Halesowen, Worcester, Nailer
John WHESTON Boarder 19 Malt Mill Lane Halesowen, Worcester, Bricklayers Laborer

1861 CENSUS

Edward Worton nailer RR 1829
Hannah 1825

Pheobe 1852
John 1861
All born RR living in Black Heath

these also roughly match what would be the best way to prove who phobe is is to get both marriage checked phoebe worton and phoebe weston to see if both there father are edward if only the phoebe that married isaac is an edward then presume that phoebe worton

if this is a wrong transcript

1878
TROMANS Isaac WESTON Phoebe Blackheath, St Paul Dudley Register Office

if it should be worton

then we need to find

1872
WORTON Phoebe DAY John Dudley, St James Dudley Register Office

might help if some one can find a phoebe worton c 1852 in 1861 census who married john day

I agree Peterd

boz stick it on the look ups

We cant add to Phoebe with a hubby till we bottom this

My feeling is that cos of that John Westen in 1881 it it Pheobe Weston who marries Isaac Tromans but we need proof
