Having hit a break wall with my last person, I'm now asking for help from you good people with the following:
Edward Griffiths born 1769, married to Sarah Male 26 Jan 1794 in Saint Thomas, Dudley, Worcester, England.
Sarah was born 1769 in Halesowen, Worcester, England. Her parents were Thomas and Mary.

Thanks in advance.

You can request a look up for their marriage, it may have some more details such as witnesses. There are a few Edward Griffith's listed on the IGI, christened around 1769, some in Old Swinford and some in Tipton, he could be anyone of them? Do you have the names of Edward and Sarah's children? That could help if there are any unusual family names. Linell.

Hello again linell
The children I have were: Joseph b. 1800 , James 1802 and Richard 1806 all born in Tipton.
Should I post a request for a look up for the marriage certificate on another thread? Is that what you mean?

Have a nice Sunday

Hi Shaygriff

I will move this now to the Black Country Genealogy section as anything that concerns
that area goes in the Black Country Genealogy section (scroll down main board)

if you would like a look up for the marriage you mention

You need to post it under look up requests section
on the thread entitled Dudley and Smethwick look ups post here
you need church day month year

but
it is only if and when anyone is going to Dudley archives
and the list is huge and is going to take ages to get thru if ever!
so if you want it sooner ....then you need to contact the archvies for a copy
of the entry in the Parish Register or pop in yourself
not sure what costs are for Dudley doing it

Hi Shaygriff, there is a christening at Tipton (probably St Martins, needs checking as it is a submitted entry on the IGI) for Edward Griffiths 11.12.1770 to a Richard and Elizabeth. That is the one I would go for because of the Richard connection and the date and place fit. You do need to get it checked in the Parish Register though, as with the Dudley Marriage. Linell.

I doubt I will be popping into the archives in the near future, I haven't been home for years :) I'll be getting my credit card out again I think :)
