I have not had a look myself and since I don't know these people, perhaps they are mistaken?

The date could be down incorrectly that happens

JOHN BRADFORD - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 31 MAR 1836 Sedgley, Stafford, England

I will have a look in the register for this one see if parents are John and Sarah
if you want that marriage in 1823 looked up for wits then you need to add it to the list
I will add this bapt to my list

Ok I have looked up the marriage and the baptism which DOES exist.
I have added in the father and mother for John Bradford
his marriage and christening

We could do with getting the other info added to BCC ie his sibs from the christenings that were noted
on this thread and the 1851 census etc
are you going to add that Mark?

below is the link and info
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... d=53674862

further info added by Jan...Marriage info looked up at the archives
25 Dec 1858 All Saints Sedgley
John Bradford 24 bach Shingler Hall Green John Bradford Puddler
Frances Mary Jones 24 spinster Ettingshall Thomas Jones Puddler
Banns
X both
Wit- Thomas Bradford X / Mary Ann Bradford X

Christening Notes
[Christening notes]This Was looked up by Jan at the archives
31st March 1836- John son of John and Sarah Bradford abode Brierley - occup Puddler

note Hall Green came under Brierley Sedgley
Brierley was a township in the ancient parish of Sedgley, it bordered on Bradley. The area is now encompassed by Bradley and the name Brierley appears to have been dropped. Brierley was originally a separate township and in a different parish, the census enumerators returns for Brierley are included with Sedgley, but Bradley is included in the Bilston returns and these are held at Wolverhampton ( info from Dudley Archives)

Blimey, you're on the ball.
Just goes to show that you should always have a look see yourself (if possible, - I know that Mark can't as he's a little bit too far away to get to Dudley Archives on a regular basis  )

How did the others miss it???? It's the same date as on the IGI!

The people who missed it may have been looking at well worn fiche or microfilm.

I have had that problem in the past.

Thanks for that. I will add a couple of generations of Bradford on the tree for you.

I will add James Homer's ten children as well.

That was not who I was expecting for France's father but I suppose it makes sense if you look at how they named their children.

I will add the information early tommorow.

That wedding lookup would be good.

I have started a new thread for Frances.

Keep this one open till I fill in the details in the tree in case I come across some anomalies.

I have quite few parents who have a child die young and name another the same later on.

One of the most common mistakes on Ancestry and Genes Reunited are people who so do not realise they are two different children.

Chasing John Bradford Senior's baptism.

John Bradford Snr died before 1841.

No sign of his burial on any index I have.

Sarah Bradford nee Stanley can't be found in census after 1841 but she may have married in 1844, Dudley (which includes Sedgley), Vol 18, Page 408.

Four potential husbands....
