All I need NL, is a marriage for John and Esther ...here's the link

I think this one's too early?

Marriages Sep 1846
Attwood William Pershore 18 475
Bishop John Pershore 18 475
Harris Eliza Pershore 18 475
Mills Esther Pershore 18 475

Probably this one?

Marriages Jun 1851
Alexander Emma Settle Birmingham 16 419
BISHOP John Birmingham 16 419
Brown Ann Birmingham 16 419
Panton Ruben Birmingham 16 419
Smith Sarah Birmingham 16 419
Swindale John Birmingham 16 419
Tongue Thomas Birmingham 16 419
Wright Esther Birmingham 16 419

Just noticed she was born in Warwickshire so I think it is the 1851 marriage

Mally

Just idling time and was downright flabbergasted to find my lot at the start of your post!

I've often wondered about the name Bishop - my parents were very close to a Cyril Bishop (who became Head Librarian at Smethwick) - I have wondered whether he was a distant relative or it was just coincidence. Anyway he was a lovely guy and a talented artist too.

I can't believe it - just reread the original post and find that the census return(1911) states my grandparents had 7 children (5 living).

I find this incredible, my father never mentioned other siblings beyond the ones I knew about. Also his step brother (16 at the time of the census) never mentioned anything. This is a puzzle. Any ideas of how to try and trace these lost infants plse?

Ann Maria had left home by 1871, I wonder if this is her marriage?

Marriage 1870
BISHOP Ann M ROBERTS James Rowley Regis, St Giles Sandwell Register Office 18/4/191

Mmmm...forget that, can't find them on the census :?
