I have done a look up and getting a bit tied up with it

On the marriage there is no father for William Homer b abt 1826/7
only the word deceased
wit is a George Hadlington X mark of

I think his father is a William Homer and mother a Nancy unknown.
On the 1841 at Swinford Wood Kingswinford
on the oppo page to I believe his future brides family (Nancy Billingham)
is this lot

1841 Swinford Wood Kingswinford
William Homer 40 nailer
Nancy Homer 40
Joseph Honmer 15
William Homer 14
Samuel Homer 12
Benjamin Homer 10
John Homer 7

now what is weird is that this family is at Saltwells the same place/area William Homer that
marries Nancy is in 1851
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =833916740

so is this his father
if so why does he put deceased on

can someone see what they think on this pls

Homers and Cutlers are the worst families to try and sort out....

Your logic seems sound but as I have found, there are so many similar families living in a small area that good logic is not proof enough.

I agree Mark
I can't add it ...I think it is him but ....need more proof

Ok how do we figure it out
who is that wit ...I think I saw on the census a family living near this lot
Hadletons?

could be Hadlington misheard?

wonder if other kids of this lot in 1841 have marriages after 1847 with Wm and Nancy as wits?

1841 Swinford Wood Kingswinford
William Homer 40 nailer
Nancy Homer 40
Joseph Honmer 15
William Homer 14
Samuel Homer 12
Benjamin Homer 10
Seth? Homer 7
John Homer 5
Daniel Homer 2

any bapts for this lot?

Just noticed on the 1851 there is a Joseph Homer on the page before Wm Homer and Nancy
1851 Saltwells Kingswinford
Joseph Homer 29 h m 29 puddler b Kingswinford
Caroline Homer wife 28 b Kingswinford
Sarah Homer 15 visitor b Kingswinford

that could be the Joseph aged 15 on censsus with father Wm and mother Nancy
bro to our Wm

can someone post the 1851 for Wm Homer and Nancy senior and see which kids are still with them pls

Is it reasonable for a Kingswinford family to baptise at Cradley?

1841 Swinford Wood Kingswinford
William Homer 40 nailer
Nancy Homer 40
Joseph Homer 15
William Homer 14
Samuel Homer 12
Benjamin Homer 10
Seth? Homer 7
John Homer 5
Daniel Homer 2

1851. Saltwells
William Homer. 53. nailor
Nancy. 53. nailor
Samuel Homer. 23. roller at forge
Shederick Homer. 20. coal miner
John Homer. 15. nailor
Daniel Homer. 12.nailor

same page (and next entry after William and Maria Billingham)

Sarah Homer head wid 60 pauper/nailor
lodging with her Edward Wilden and wife Ruth (39) and family

bpt at Park Lane Pres, Cradley Parents Benjamin and Sarah Homer
William Homer b 30 dec 1826 bpt 4 feb 1827

Could that be William? and his widowed mother in the 1851 census?

Can anyone find Sarah Homer in the 1841?

Ruth Homer m Edward Wheldon 30th Oct 1836 St Thos Dudley

Ruth Homer bpt 12 Sep 1813 St Thos Dudley, parents Benjm and Sarah Homer

Could perhaps be the Ruth lodging with the widowed Sarah Homer?

This would be that one. 2 pages after the other one in Saltwells.

1851. Saltwells.
William Homer. 24. Puddler.
Nancy Homer. 24. Nailer.
Hannah Homer. 3.
Mary Ann Homer. 2.

All born Kingswinford.
