Ok so we got a DEATH CERTIF for a John Jones b abt 1829 - died 1875
wife is an Eleanor (I think)
living Merridale area W'ton now the info is unchecked that I found and done rather quickly so could do with you clever lot veryifying it before it goes on connections....so here is the certif info..

15 Jan 1875 Merridale St Wolverhampton West- John Jones -47 yrs- Stock lock Maker- informant M A Jones sister in law of deceased present at the death Church Lane W'ton..

Down the road is his brother James and sister in law Mary Anne + Kids -
must be on 1871 census cant remember.
Both living Merridale
1881 Mary Ann and James Jones living Church lane.

This John is on 1861 census Same address ie Merridale

So wot can we find for this one and I will put it on the tweeeeeeeeee

thanks Jimmy just had a look at the marriages on the W'ton site. The 1857 one is a labourer father is a John Jones farmer so dont think it is that one. I think it is the 1863 one cos of her name and she is from there. In which case a look at their marriage would be peachy.
But not sure if the church has the records these days. Think they give em to the archives. I know W'ton has them.
Will check if the church does too.

This one could probably be discounted as our John and Eleanor are married already by the 1861 census - and have 4 children, eldest 6.

This would put their marriage at about 1855. The 1853 marriage is looking good.

As I was drawn to the John JONES / Eleanor BATE marriage, I jumped the gun and looked at confirming this first:

Eleanor Bate in pre-marriage census. She should be about 10 in 1841. Does she have a brother John of the right age (ie. b. abt 1835)?
