Hi Jan

Thanks, looks fine. The queries:

A. (Apologies, thanks for picking this up!) Mary Ann Dukes was b. 1835 New Invention d/o Richard Dukes b. 1801 occ. locksmith and Mary [unknown] b. 1801

B. Sarah Ann Patten b. 1850 m. 1870 Alfred Williams b. 1848 and had FOUR children:

1. Martha Williams [twin]
b. 1870 Wolverhampton

m. 1895
St Paul's Wolverhampton
Edward Caddick
b. 1866 Wolverhampton
occ. cabinet maker, carpenter

2. Mary Williams [twin]
b. 1870 Wolverhampton

m#1. 1889
St John's Wolverhampton
John Hayward
b. Pontesbury, Shropshire
d. 1894 Wolverhampton
occ. bicycle maker

m#2. [unknown]
[unknown]

3. Clara Williams
b. 1876 Heath Town
[no other information]

4. John Leonard Williams
b. 1881 Heath Town
[no other information]

(Sir) Charles Hayward was the second child of John Hayward and Mary nee Williams.

Their first child was:

Marion Daisey Hayward [**note** Daisey spelt with an 'e' in it]
b. 1890 Wolverhampton
d. 1969 [unknown]

On the death of their father, Daisey and Charlie (as they were known) lived with their maternal grandparents, Alfred Williams and Sarah Ann nee Patten, and their mother remarried but we don't have the details of this second marriage. Just to add some flesh to the bones, the biography of Sir Jack Hayward (who used to own Wolverhampton Wanderers FC) says,

“Jack’s father, Charles...at the age of only five...and his sister Daisey were orphaned following the death of their father John and the re-marriage of their mother Mary. In keeping with the custom of the day, they became cared for by their grandparents ...he later said, ‘My grandfather and grandmother rated as middle-class because they had a drink in the house.'"

Thanks,

David

Ok David I have added Jack Hayward need his dob adding when you join I have est it.
and I have only added Mary Williams and marriage to Jack and then connected up

give you something to do when you join!

Do add all that information re Sir Jack Hayward etc.
sorry not up on footie presume he is deceased
as only those that are deceased can be entered.
Those born before 1920 it is ok to add
any after 1920 only add if you know the date of death or an estimated date.

here is link
if that is ok we can move to stage 2

Hello Jan, looking very good. Yes, something for me to do.

Sir Jack was born 1923 and still very much with us, so he can't be included.

You want the d. o. b. for John Hayward not his grandson Sir Jack, is that right? Sorry I missed it out previously.

John Hayward b. 1868
Pontesbury, Shropshire

Okay, try me on Stage 2, but I see how easy it is to make an error or a typo. It's like walking on ice, isn't it?
