ARC..Wilkinson Burley on BCC (to be connected)

Postby gardener » Sat Jan 09, 2021 11:17 pm

Here is Wilkinson https://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/t ... ver=520527

At the moment he has no parents (though it has his baptism date written down)
Baptised 24 March 1822 St Mary, Oldswinford
Wilkinson Burley, parents William and Mary Burley, labourer, Lye (Freereg)

His marriage to Priscilla Clews gives his father as William Burley, plater (Freereg)

This is the family in 1841

Town Forge, Old Swinford
William Burley 45
Mary Burley 40
William Burley 20
Wilkinson Burley 15
Thomas Burley 13
Sarah Burley 11
Mary Burley 9

and they are here https://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/t ... ver=520527 but only the two girls have been added

I think Thomas married Esther Beddall (Freereg)

Holy Trinity, Wordsley
31 March 1850
Thomas Burley, plater; father William Burley, Plater
Esther Beddall; father Richard Beddall, nailer
witnesses: Joseph Beddall, Samuel Beddall

1851
Kingswinford
Thomas Birley 25 spade plater
Ester Birley 23
Thomas Birley 9 Mo

1861
Forge Lane, Hill
Thomas Burley 32 spade and shovel plater, born Stamber Mill
Esther Burley 43 Kingswinford
Thomas Burley 10
Mary Burley 9
Esther Burley 7
Martha Burley 4
Wm Richard Burley 2
Richard Brettell 20 (brothers son left a orphan) Kingswinford [so is he a Beddall?]

I think that Esther must be the daughter of this Richard https://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/t ... ver=520538
With the witnesses to her marriage being her brothers Joseph and Samuel.

baptism?

Park Lane Chapel, Cradley
Born 2 March 1826
Bapt 9 July 1826
Richard and Sarah Beddall, living Kingswinford parish
Esther Beddall

And the Richard "Brettell" is probably her brotherJoseph's son (motherless was sometimes seen as orphaned) Clicking on Joseph's name gives this text

"1841 Bower Quarry Bank
Joseph Beddall 25 Nailer Not born in County

On the 1841 next household looks like his inlaws Thomas Penn and wife Elizabeth and his son Richard Beddall aged 8 months...can't see Mary....did she die?"

Who wants to connect some of that up?
