I am researching a Richard Cooper Boatman and got stuck as Ancestry and FMP had significant errors/poor transcription on 1861 Census resulting in numerous incorrect family trees
Following are correct transcriptions with notes below identifying what Ancestry and FMP and trees have
1851 Census Woodside Dudley Worcestershire
William Hingley Head 28 Boat Labourer
Mary Ann Hingley wife 27
Thos. Hingley son 5
All born Dudley Worcs.
Note:- Thos. is Benjamin Thomas on 1861
1861 Census Blake Brook Dudley Worcs.
William Hingley Head 41 Canal Carrier
Mary Ann Hingley wife 36
Benjamin Thos. Hingley son 15
Mary Cooper mother.in.law 57 (wid) born Tipton Staffs.
Richard Cooper brother.in.law 22 Boatman
Mary Ann Round niece 24 Servant
George Johnston boarder 21 Boatman
Rest born Woodside Dudley Worcs.
Note :-Ancestry and Trees have Hingley as Dingley and FMP have Cooper as Corper.
The research is complicated by fact that Mary Cooper married twice to a Leech and a Cooper and thus Mary Ann Hingley her daughter was Mary Ann Leech before marriage to William Hingley
I am adding with notes but need marriage of William Hingley to Mary Ann Leech to confirm
LEECH Mary A HINGLEY William Kingswinford, St Mary Dudley Register Office 213/001/287 1842
