1841 census is, or should be, rounded down the the lower multiple of 5 for ages over 15. Looking at the census pages it looks like they are lowered down.
I have added that the year is hard to read...

Are you able to add a photo or scan of the birth date you have and we can look too?
We also have Philemon as christened 26 Sep 1819 but family search has 12 Mar 1820 does your info differ?
Could do with 1844 marriage...

Thanks for the information. The will details are correct as I have the original and John Cole is named as executor. The page in the Bible is not in good condition and the relevant information is right at the top of a slightly tattered page so doesn't scan well. I have taken a photo of the relevant entry in it's entirety and then in three enlarged sections and changed the background to white and e mailed them to Mallosa as I'm not sure of the best way to add them to the forum.

If it is 1782 I'm struggling to find a match on Ancestry. All the descendants who have done trees have used 1786. I could ask my cousin in America if anything is mentioned in the family history her dad and grandad wrote. As far as I know she has no documents.

I think they will be going by the 1841 census...
I have been looking into the family today...
https://www.tribalpages.com/tribe/brows ... i=91523716I have added some more as it wasn't all added.
A marriage I found for Henry Clark but as Edmund? Still looking...
There was also a Ellen 1841 that was showing on notes BCC but I cant see that again that you wern't sure about? Is that Ellen Johnson born 1841?

Unfortunately I can't be much help. My father did a family tree for the Manger side but not the Taylor one. There is an Edwin Johnson born 14th October 1835 in the Family Bible (already on the Connection tree) and in his Will Joseph Taylor left Jemima 30 pounds and specified that William Johnson was not allowed to use any of the money to pay his debts. He says the money should go to their several children but gives no names.

I have had a reply from my cousin in America and she has sent me an excerpt from Gordon Taylor's family history:
The earliest record is of Joseph Taylor, born 4th April 1782; died 15 March 1841, age 58. Joseph married a lady by the name of Smith and they lived in a small cottage near the village of Stoke Prior in Worcestershire, England.
Their first son, Philemon Taylor, born on Tuesday, 1 September 1819 at 8.00pm, was baptized on 26 September in Stoke Prior Church by the Reverend George. Philemon was killed in a war.
The information about Philemon is immediately below that for Joseph. I visited the church at Stoke Prior a few years ago but there was nobody about to help me find paperwork, graves etc. A subsequent enquiry suggested that all their records are on microfiche so difficult for me to follow up as I live near Sheffield.
