Nanny Foster went on to marry Richard Parsons born 1813

It would appear that Elizabeth has taken Foster surname instead of Rose as per wedding

I had a problem in connecting to site yesterday and that is why link did not work

This thread is really interesting as surnames keep changing back and forth from maternal to paternal and back again.
NL started it with George Tromans Foster thread
Further down line Foster and Rose surnames evolve into Darby and Turner as a Phoebe Foster marries a Cornelius Darbey Turner and family then drop Turner to become Darby after mother divorces Turner . It actually says divorced along side her name and he moves to America where he remarries
I thought ordinary people could not get divorced in 19th Century ?
