Horace Foley - Lydia Winifred Dimmock

Finding Horace's grave at Lye cemetery has led me on to new research. Found his wife was a Dimmock so looked for her in 1911. She was 8 and with her widowed mother Jane Dimmock and gd parents. Looked for info on Jane but couldn't find any so looked at Janes father John Crockett and her name turns out to be Mary Jane who married George Dimmock. Noticed you have this connection on bcc. They are not related to me but Horace Foley was my 1st coz twice removed. Got the bug again!!

He was the youngest of 10 kids born to Walter Eli(on bcc as just plain Walter)

Don't have kids for him but do you want all siblings. Theres also grave at Lye for bro Walter Eli 1883-1965 and his wife Phoebe Hill and a war grave for bro William 1895-1921. He had malaria so discharged and died much later 1 Aug 1921 aged 26 and was buried in the same grave as his gd mother Keziah Mason died 1918. A war grave headstone was later erected but Keziah's name isn't on it. Found about her burial on Dudley site. Just out of interest he was the 1st soldier buried in Lye/Wollescote cemetery (section C G17) to be awarded a Silver War badge which was to be worn on his lapel when outdoors so people would not think he was a coward. Don't think he was married.

Horaces bro Walter Eli(1883-1965) died just 2mths after his wife Phoebe Ann Hill.
Administration was given 18 Nov 1965 to Walter Foley development engineer and William Foley heating engineer. £1034. Address given is 19 Bridgnorth Rd Stourbridge.

Walter was buried in the same grave as his wife and young child Doris who died aged 1 in 1910. Have a pic but grave is in poor state. Lye & Wollescote cemetery Section C 44H.

Jan noticed you've connected Horace to Walter Foley and Mary Ann Mason. They are his parents and they did marry 1877 at Dudley. That gro ref for Horace Mason Foley is it for a birth reg? If he was born 21 Nov 1901 according to 1939 reg why take so long to register it? It must be the same Horace but don't have him with the name of Mason on anything, not even his headstone. His father was Walter Eli 1855-1932 and Mary Ann.

It means that MASON is his mother's Maiden Name. So, the 1939 Register has his birth date as 21 Nov 1901 (these dates can't always be reliable) he would have been registered in the March Quarter 1902.

So I have connected Horace to correct parents?
