Postby Northern Lass » Sat Jul 04, 2009 10:13 am

have done a look up and would like to add these Billinghams to the main line
James Cutler is on another thread so if we can keep em seperate please...

18 July 1871 Holy Trinity Smethwick
James Cutler-32- widower- butcher- Smethwick- James Cutler- carpenter
Phebe Janette Billingham- 35- spinster- smethwick- Eli Billingham- blacksmithboth signed
Wit - James Reynolds/ Ellen Reynolds

so Phebe Janette Billingham b abt 1836 dunno where could do with that
and father Eli billingham b abt 1810 dunno where could do with that too

I had a feeling it was seeing as first daur called Phebe. Although down as visitor I wondered if Samuel was his father??
Also there is no certainty of Jane Russell being his wife, is it possible to check the marriage that Gardener found on the cradley heath site?

I think that Jane Russell is good as wife
area for marriage Kingswinford and living amblecote/quarry bank is good too

trouble is that marriage is early but there will be witnesses with a bit of luck
do you fancy adding that to look ups Jo and I will do it
gonna add that marriage to the BCC to

10 Oct 1831 Eli Billingham m Jane Russell at Kingswinford

Ok have added that thanks Jo
will see if any sibs for Eli

I couldnt see a link to him on that Billinghams site
but that bapt looks good
that Samuel as a lodger in 1851
and calling kid Phebe

1851 Census
Brittle Street, Malecite
Eli Billingham, head, 41 Black Smith Staffs Quarry Bank
Jane, wife, 42, Wednesbury
Phebe, daur, 19, school mistress, Wordsley
William, son, 17 Black Smith, ?
Jemima, daur, 7, scholar Hamlet Ashford?
Samuel, visitor, w, 72, Chainmaker, Rowley Regis

see what marriage says

will add to notes that bapt as a poss too for Eli but not fill in parents

So if we are done with this we can archive pending look up
