Thanks to Derek Nicholls & Tipton Civic Society for the following info taken from The Great Zeppelin raids booklet.
Thomas Greenland Yates the father of young Frederick (known as Norman) suffered a considerable amount of heartache in his 20's & 30's. Age 25 in 1906 he married Louisa Unity from Bloomfield St Tipton. She sadly died whilst giving birth to Frederick Norman Yates in 1908. After her death they lived with Thomas's parents at 66 Union St Tipton.
Whether or not, having heard the first bomb explode, an excited Norman Yates rushed out onto Union St to see what was happening and was killed by the second or third exp!ozion we will never know. However it is recorded that the lifeless body was indeed recovered from the street.
