Ok, the marriage of David Harris and Sarah Bloomer was in 1862, she was 17. Says David was born in 1845 in Cradley though. However, I'm totally confused :? I'm really hoping someone can make some sense of it all, cos I'm going nuts.

Northern Lass"

this is odd...so are there 2 Josephs marrying the same time?

1864
HARRIS Joseph LOWE Sarah Dudley, St Thomas Dudley Register Office 204/022/185

and
DAVID HARRIS
Spouse: SARAH SMITH
Marriage: 24 APR 1864 Saint Thomas, Dudley, Worcester, Extracted[/quote]

[quote="Northern Lass wrote:
So this looks like we could have 3 David Harris all married to a different Sarah!
Linell has flagged another marriage to a Bloomer for a David harris
So we have Smith- Lowe and Bloomer

We also it seems have 2 Josephs for fathers and a Benjamin :?

Sorry, have I missed something? The Sarah Lowe marriage was to a Joseph Harris not David????
So we only have the Smith and Bloomer marriages to consider?

Hi Daniel

Yeah, it's just David and Sarah I'm looking at... the question is, which Sarah did David Harris the son of Joseph and Mary Harris marry.

I def know that Joseph and Mary are my ancestors.. so it's down the the kids now. David is proving to be a real challenge though as I've found two marriages of David Harris born in 1845 in Cradley. One is to a Sarah SMITH and the other to a Sarah BLOOMER. David and Sarah Smith married in 1864 and David and Sarah Bloomer in 1862.

Also I agree with linell that Joseph's parents are Thomas and Hannah

Hi all, the Cradley Vicar's Notebook have a David and Sarah Harris living with John and Eliza Bloomer Colley Lane Cradley 1863/64, David and Sarah Harris have a one year old son Joseph.

There's another David and Sarah Harris living on their own, in The Innage Cradley at the same time. The Vicar has no notes on them except to say +3, which I take to mean that Sarah was three months pregnant. I think this is the couple who are in Cradley in 1871 with a daughter Anna M aged 6 in 1871. David was aged 36 so born 1835, which makes him to old to be the son of Joseph and Mary Harris from Lomey Town their son was born 1844/5.

Has anyone found David born 1844/5 with a son Joseph born 1864 in 1871?

Linell.

Yes soz Di it is just the 2!

this one

1864
HARRIS David SMITH Sarah Dudley, St Thomas Dudley Register Office 204/022/257

and the Bloomer one....do we have the church and details for that one.

I can look them up at the archives and see the ages of the groom, occup and father....

Just to add to the confusion the ones that we are dismissing ie David Harris b 1835 there is a Sarah Bloomer widow living near in 1871
bit of a red herring
and that David looks as though he has father Joseph

So the David & Sarah living with John and Eliza Bloomer Colley Lane Cradley 1863/64 could be the right ones. See the David and Sarah in Cradley 1881 that Jimmy found:-
1881 11 Inage, Cradley
David HARRIS. Head M Male 35 Cradley Heath, Stafford, Ironworker. b. 1846
Sarah HARRIS. Wife M Female 35 Cradley, Worcester b. 1846
Joseph HARRIS. Son U Male 16 Cradley, Worcester, Scraper In Wire Mill.
Emily HARRIS. Daur Female 10 Cradley, Worcester, Scholar.
John H. HARRIS. Son Male 8 Cradley, Worcester, Scholar.
Arthur HARRIS. Son Male 6 Cradley, Worcester, Scholar.
Eliza Mary HARRIS. Daur Female 4 Cradley, Worcester, Scholar.
David HARRIS. Son Male 2 Cradley, Worcester,

And
"Ok, the marriage of David Harris and Sarah Bloomer was in 1862, she was 17. (b. 1845) Says David was born in 1845 in Cradley though."

This fits this family! But David would also be about 16/17 when married! Stranger things have happened ...

I'm wondering where their daughter, Clara is in 1881?

Yes that's the family I've been looking at. Just wish I could solve the problem of which David Harris married Sarah Smith and which David Harris married Sarah Bloomer.

The David I need is the son of Joseph and Mary? Don't have a last name on her though.

Joseph and Mary were married on 28 October 1832.
