ISAAC HADLEY
SARAH DAVIS

Marriage: 06 JUN 1797 Rowley Regis, Stafford,

think she is age 69 on 1851 so b abt 1782!

so might be a bit young but suppose they did at 15!

that might account for her having kids from Charlotte! to William 1804-1824 and prob before 1804 too!
as there were others.

Well done there NL. I found two Marriages for Issac Hadley one at Halesowen and one at St Martin's Bull Ring B'ham, both circa 1822/4 both Marriages to a Jane, just wondered if this Sarah could be a Sarah Jane? Best Wishes from linell.

Hardwicke's Marriage Act of 1753 required for parental consent for people
marrying if they were under 21. Consent could be given by parents for a boy
at 14 and a girl at 12. The age of consent was raised to 16 in 1929.

From my notes :!:

Thanks for that Linell.... You are brill on the social history stuff

I think she must have married pre 1804 as that Charlotte living next to her in 1841 is her dau.
So that marriage Pete found could be the one I will get the fiches out in a min..see if the marriage is there and any more on that bapt for charlotte

Fantastic research

Postby apowell » Tue Feb 03, 2009 7:36 pm

Hi,

I'm speechless no idea how you managed to work this out and get me so much information. I've only been attempting to solve this for God knows how long  but yes it all fits. I just wasn't thinking outside the box.

I'm wondering if we can work out what children Isaac and Sarah had in total because with that information I could trace all the extended family from 1841 census onwards.

A great big thank you you're a star and what a fantastic forum. I promise to spread the word.

I need to sit down to gather my thoughts and work out the information I've got.

Kind regards
Adrian
