I've been doing some work on the family of Septimus Bills and Hannah Forrest and have noticed some differences to the information on BCC.
Hannah, on the 1911 census, RG14 Piece 17465 (Schedule 85), claims to have had 18 children, 9 of whom were still living at the time of the census. So far I have discovered 13, but have still to confirm all the potential pre-1911 deaths:
Fanny 1858, m Thomas France 9 Feb 1880
Alfred 1859, m Isabella Bowen 1880, m Mary Richards 8 Dec 1884
Caroline 1860, m Thomas Willetts 1887
Joseph 1862, no marriage or death yet discovered
Hezekiah 1864, m Rosanna Green 1885
Septimus 1866, m Ellen Sophia Cox 1889, m Florence Bloomer 1912
Alice 1868, no marriage or death yet discovered
Selina Alice 27 Jan 1870, m Samuel Bate 1889
Benjamin 1872, no marriage or death yet discovered
John 1873, m Alice Hodgetts 1900
Nancy 1875, no marriage or death yet discovered
Leah 1877, m Benjamin Thompson 25 Dec 1897
Philip 3 April 1881 - 9 April 1882
The remaining 5 are as yet still to be discovered, but if these were still or premature births, they may never have been registered. All those I have so far discovered have GRO Birth index entries with the mother's maiden name Forrest.
On BCC, there is listed a Hannah as a daughter to Septimus and Hannah, born 1882, but I believe her to be the daughter of Caroline: 1881 J Quarter in STOURBRIDGE Volume 06C Page 158; Mother's maiden name: -
As all the other children have the mother's maiden name on the index entry, I think the fact it is missing on Hannah's entry indicates that she is not Septimus' daughter.
I think all the above is accurate, but someone else here may know otherwise
and it is still a work in progress.
