I've been adding as
Marchant according to their headstone inscriptions/census details and GRO records

It looks like some of family switched to Marchant after 1901 Census

1939 Register Kalmundi Springhill Lane Wolverhampton Staffs.
Herbert Marchant born 6/6/1885 Railway Clerk
Evelina Marchant born 11/4/1886
Marchant on 1921 Census as well

My Brookes family often changed to Brooks and Brookes and back and forth.
