Census Intrigue

Postby Arkwright » Sat Jul 15, 2006 2:43 pm

Hi all

This is my first post on this forum and I'm also a newbie to genealogy so please be gentle.

I wonder if anyone could look at the following 2 pieces of census information and give me their thoughts on possible courses of investigation.

If I'm right in thinking the 2 pieces of information are linked, then I'm a bit puzzled as to the relationship between the head of the household in the 1881 census and the Anne Holland born in 1851 in both the 1881 and 1871 census.

I'm sure an experienced genealogist will spot what's probably going on very quickly, I just think I can't see the wood for the trees coupled with the fact I'm new to all this.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

All I can suggest is, is to obtain the birth cert of Clara below and find out who the real parents are.

Births Sep qtr 1868
Clara HOLLAND: Glanford B. 7a 652
