Hello from a Rollason-Bishop newbie

Postby maryperiman » Tue Oct 30, 2012 10:59 am

Hello all
My name is Mary and I am trying to find my English roots. I am interested in the Rollason family from the Smethwick area, including Bilston. West Bromwich and area. My great grandfather was Joseph William Rollason, son of Isaac and Anne Hitchings,(born June 9, 1854_, and his wife, Hannah Dickinson, daughter of David Dickinson and Elizabeth Stone. Hannah was born Jan 16, 1854. Hannah died of breast cancer on January 23, 1897, and Joseph drank himself to death (cause is stated as chronic meningitis) Oct. 22, 1899.
I am also trying to connect with the Bishop line in that same area. My great grandparents were Robert Bishop and Mary Selina Hill. Robert was born July 20, 1851 in Martock to Thomas Bishop and Aseneth Beck. He died in Oct. 1, 1940 in Sulley Oak, in a hospital. He was 89. Mary Selina was born April 28 (I think) 1854. Robert was a widower when he married Mary Selina.
I really want to get back further, and I know that there are a lot of Rollasons and they ALL seem to have the same name, so if anyone could help me, I would be truly grateful. My link to the family is my grandparents, Joseph William(b. 1888) and Maude Adelaide Bishop (b. 1888).
Thank you so much.
