As starting post
Strange baptism patterns for their children...
Baptisms at Christ Church West Bromwich, all on 12 Mar 1837, all children of James and Phebe Fletcher, of Smethwick, a mill man.
Thomas, born 22 Oct 1826
William, born 27 Nov 1829
Luke, born 19 Apr 1835
No baptism then for Charles who was born 22 Nov 1832, he was baptised at St Michaels & the Holy Angets, West Bromwich on 22 Dec 1892 as Gulielmus Fletcher, son of James Fletcher and Phoebe Whitehouse.
John was baptised at North Harborne on 26 Feb 1843
I can’t even see the younger children’s births registered, never mind consistent baptisms?
There is another James Fletcher and Phebe in the area, children baptised in Bliston, this most likely will be James Fletcher and Phebe Sheldon.
Also interesting is the marriage of Samuel Fletcher and Selina Whitehouse in 1836, children born in West Bromwich, Selina is the daughter of an Isaac Whitehouse and a Mary?
