ARC TBC Which Ann is correct?

Postby Katykat » Sat Mar 23, 2019 11:53 am

In the Roberts line of my family, I’m finding it really difficult to pin down the correct information. It’s made all the more difficult that many of the male family members were called David Roberts. At present I have confirmed that David Roberts, born Pembrey 1836 & died in Cadoxton 1923 is correct. On the 1841 census his parents are listed as David Robert ( minus the S but I think it was common then for surnames to change slightly) and Ann. By 1851, Ann must have died because she’s not on the census. Davis senior was born in Pembrey circa 1801 and Ann circa 1807 ( according to the census) I cant find any marriage record so I can’t determine Ann’s maiden name. On searching there are possibly 5 or 6 Ann’s who married a David Robert or Roberts in Pembrey between 1825-1834 when their first child Elizabeth was born. How can I find out which Ann David married and if possible his fathers name ( I’ll bet it’s David !!!)

Once again, Thank you very much BC. I was thrown off course by the fact that I had missed the first child, Margaret, born in 1828. I’ve dug out an old email from a distant relative & discovered the existence of Margaret so this narrows the search a lot and I think you have found the correct match. The John b 1839 is correct so this confirms Ann’s maiden name. I need to use the GRO index more.
