The trial Of Sarah Ellen Procter at the Old Bailey

Postby TWG1947 » Mon Oct 25, 2010 5:11 pm

This is a link to the trancript of the trial of Sarah Ellen Procter a nail maker of Netherton who murdered Charlote Whale, a chain maker of Cradley. The murder took place in London, but many local people gave evidence for Ellen, many of them nail makers. A small insight into their lives.

Yes I was wondering if anyone could connect to any of the people named.

I found it interesting, I thought others would.

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

This one was sorted quick, I'm grateful for whoever researched what happened to Sarah and letting me know her outcome.

I thought it rather interesting that nailers and chainmakers took trains to London and beyond. One can picture them as was witnessed "at the Reading Station we all had a cup of tea apiece—we all sat down in the refreshment room and had a cup of tea together". Oh pass the tissues.

Hi TWG,
I researched Sarah Ellen Proctor (nee Darby ) and all people I saw in Trial as I am distantly related to Jumping Joe Darby sister of Sarah. I have added a lot of connections and I think I also found Charlotte Whale and family.
One of my distant relatives is more closely related and she will be very interested in trial details.
Regards
