The Lion Pub, High Street, Dudley

Postby Wardy » Sat Jun 22, 2013 10:05 pm

I would like to learn information relating to an old pub which used to be in High Street, Dudley which was called The Lion. I have ancestors who used to own & run the Windmill Inn in Dudley but have recently discovered in the 1891 census that following the death of her husband, Mary Harvey, then worked as manageress of The Lion in High Street presumably after selling the Windmill Inn.
If anyone can tell me anything about The Lion I would be most grateful & if anyone knows where I might be able to track down an old photo I would welcome being pointed in the right direction please.
With Many Thanks.

Hi I can only find information on the 'Red Lion' Dudley, the archives hold a Ground Floor Plan:- MDU/8/3/58: Ground plan of the Red Lion Hotel, Dudley ([c1900-1910])

But there are hundreds of Books on Dudley, and the High Street has been very well recorded on print and pictures, so I would find some Local History Books on Dudley, either on line or try Dudley Library.
