Sorry Pete

The Old Talbot Inn is there at No 4 but the next entry is number 8

There is an Edward Cooper, Grocer and his family at No. 10

So it's like that Mr Mason lived somewhere else.

Had a look on the internet and George Mason shops seem to be everywhere, can't tell where he originated. I know their head office was in Bradford Street in Birmingham because that's where my father in law went to work after hed taken his fingers off on the bacon slicer in the Oldbury shop.

This is on the Coventry message board "George J Mason was born in Blymhill, Staffordshire, and began his career as a grocer and apprentice at Newport, Shropshire. In 1901, he set up George J Mason Ltd. and opened his first shop in Lozells Road, Birmingham

George Mason died on 22 Aug 1934 at his home in The Woodlands, Penn Road, Wolverhampton. By this time, his empire had expanded to include 500 shops"
