Edwards family hits a dead end

Postby budedwards » Sun Jul 17, 2011 8:11 am

Hello all,

for about 8 months now i have been struggling with tracing my relatives :(

I have spent more than i can remember on ancestry.co.uk and similar trying to trace my family tree

I cannot seem to find a definitive path, either certain details do not tie up or i can find nothing

So confirmed details i have are thus:

Name : Alfred Edwin Edwards
Place : London
DOB: 14/12/1902

Father of Alfred Edwin Edwards

Name: Alfred Edwards
Place : ?
DOB: abt 1882

Father of Alfred Edwards

Name: George Edwards
Place: ?
DOB: ?

Also another enigma is my grandfather Alfred Edwin Edwards had an older sister who was only ever referred to as "Nellie" but we do not know if this is a nickname.

Now i can see on findmypast.com that there is a 1911 census page for Alfred Edwin Edwards born 1902 but i'm guessing there will be no "tie-up" info on there at all :(

If someone, at there leisure could have a quick look i'd be extremely grateful.

I would sign up for findmypast but in truth i'm running out of money to keep throwing down dead ends

You really need either some Marriage Certificates or Birth Certificates to be 100% sure of your family line, I know they are expensive, but if the information is not 'positive' on the Census returns there is no other way round it. Do you have your Grandparents Marriage Certificate, or any other Certificate? Linell.

Witnesses on this marriage were.

Charles Fry,
Nellie Florence Cooke,
Alice Marrian Fry.

Florence's father looks like Charles ? Cooke, Clerk.

Alfreds father was a Coach builder.
