I've just looked at my late Mum's record on the 1989-2019 death index on Ancestry. All details correct, except for one crucial one. The date of death! She died on 9th March 2017 (09/03/2017), but the record has it as 3rd September 2017, which is 03/09/2017!!! If all of the records have been transcribed like that, there's no hope!!

I checked my parents and they are both in the right way round. It is an interesting point though - maybe some other records have been entered like that too

I just checked another couple of relatives, and they appear correct. Apparently, the records hav ecome via a data company from obituaries and funeral directors records.

Could depend in which country that data company came from. As in the USA they would normally say the month first so today's date would be August 26th 2020 (08/26/2020) whereas in the UK we tend to say 26 August 2020.

B C Wench, you are right. But this is written as 3 Sept 2017, not in figures.
