New Member! Seeking help on Sunshine Homes etc

Postby Paulinedeans » Wed Sep 25, 2019 6:01 pm

Hi
I am a new member of this group but not new to genealogy!
My interest are surnames of GORDON BANNATYNE BEYNON LARKIN SEAGER in the London and Eastbourne areas.

GOODSELL and LARKIN in Hastings area

LAMB and BYARD in Gloucester area

ROWLAND and HACKER in Weston super Mare area

I do however have a problem which i need help with!!

I have a relative name of BERYL SEAGER born on 5th Feb 1948 at the Middlesex Hospital, which is St Marylebone District.
This child was born with severe disablement, and therefore never lived in the family home. We believe she may have lived in a so called 'SUNSHINEHOME' maybe in Ascot? We have photos of her at this point.
She was still alive in 1965, but after that date I can find no trace of her dead or alive (no death cert etc)
I cannot find any trace of her on census returns etc. Her brother is desperate to find out about her, and is quite sure she is deceased but cannot find any proof, has anyone
had any dealings with this type of issue or childrens homes that had patients like her. We believe she was blind and as I say quite disabled.

Any help very much appreciated
PJ

welcome to the forum,

have you tried contacting the local council about sunshine homes to see if they could give you anymore info ie who owned and operated them ?
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.
