He is a real mystery figure and would ask if anyone has info about him, would love to hear.
Parents - Charles GRIFFIN 1798-1882 m. Harriett HOGG 1802-1885
Charles was Inland Revenue Inspector and moved around the country, ending up in Acocks Grn Bham.
Their son, William Frederic GRIFFIN 1837-1905 is a very elusive character, he may have spent time abroad (Canada?). On various census he is a Millwright. In 1891 he is living in Balsall Heath and single. Then in 1901 age 63, a widower in Balsall Heath living with his married son and his 4 kids!
Have yet to trace a marriage, name of wife etc., but at some stage he lived with a family named COOK in Birmingham, and one of the COOK family may have been his common law wife.
