Postby Waltzer7 » Fri Nov 11, 2016 7:46 pm

I'm wondering if there is a family tree linking to above named areas on any family tree website i.e. something like BlackCountryConnections?

I currently have: -

1. William Howard Mapp
BIRTH 17 JUL 1897 • Cradley, HalesOwen, Worcestershire.
DEATH 16 JUL 1957 • 30, Saltbrook Road, Lye, Stourbridge, Worcestershire.
Married Ann Florella Hill on 15 July, 1923 at Christ church, Quarry Bank.

W H Mapp's father: -
2. George Mapp
BIRTH ABT 1863 • Mamble, Worcestershire
DEATH Unknown
Married to
Susannah Reed
BIRTH ABT 1864 • Stambermill, Stourbridge, Worcestershire
DEATH Unknown

George Mapp's father: -
3. Thomas Mapp
BIRTH ABT 1839 • Mamble, Worcestershire, England
DEATH 1924
married to
Mary Dukeshill
BIRTH ABT 1837 • Wheathill, Shropshire, England
DEATH 10 OCTOBER 1892 • Mamble

Thomas' father: -
4. William Mapp
BIRTH 1804 • Mamble, Worcestershire, England
DEATH 1890 • Worcester, Worcestershire, England
Married to
Susannah Dukes
BIRTH 1807 • Rock, Worcestershire, England
DEATH OCTOBER 1878 • Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire

Who was William's father?

Was he George Mapp christened on 17 April 1793 who married Ann Mills? or was he also called William born about 1773 who married ? Ardle?

I'm sorry that it doesn't seem clear to what I'm asking...

Yes you have William Howard Mapp on http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... i=31274218 as he was born in Cradley. I didn't think BCC covered outside areas like Mamble or Rock hence my first question, which is there something similar to BCC covering outside of Black Country? Does BCC also cover Mamble & Rock?

Second question, at the bottom of my first post, was who was William Mapp's father? Was he George Mapp or William Mapp?

Ah gottcha.
Ok to answer re Bcc yes we do cover it as long as one foot is in the BC area of one of the rellies
So cos Wm Howard is born Cradley he is the one foot in the Bc area...then it is wherever the line weaves to...so I have added some more to Bcc
but as this thread is now re Wm Mapps father b 1807 in an area outside the Bc I will move this thread to the General discussion area.

it would help if we had that full marriage info for Wm Mapp and wife Susannah Dukes
24 Feb 1828 Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire

as the wits maybe one of Wm Mapps bro or sister

where did you get those possible bapts from
and do you have the marriage of Wm Mapp and Susannah Dukes?

I don't have the full marriage for William Mapp and Susannah Dukes but will ask my Auntie if she has them and the same for William's brothers or sisters.

William Mapp was christened on 12 January 1817

I have taken a photo of the certified copy (CM255322) of an entry of birth for Thomas Mapp, born on 6th Julty 1839 at Mamble to parents: Father, William Mapp (Occ: Shoemaker) and Mother, Susanna Mapp formerly Dukes, which was registered on 6th August 1839. Signature by Edmund Bancks Whitcombe, Registrar.

I have since learned that there were no birth certificates registered before the 1800s - Is that correct?

That is correct they did not come in till late 1837, on some baptisms they show a date of birth.
