Hi everyone,
Hope I'm posting this in the right section!
In 1901 census, I have:
25 Sparrow Street, Smallthorne, Staffordshire:
Pricalla Sheridan: Wife: 36: Born Cannock Chase
Alice Sheridan: Dau: 8: Born Cannock Chase
Lily Sheridan: Dau: 4: Born Smallthorne
Thomas Sheridan: Son: 2: Born Smallthorne
[+ three boarders: William Taylor, Joseph Grainger and John Barratt]
In 1911 census, I have:
27 Sparrow Street, Smallthorne, Staffordshire:
Pricilla Sheridan: HOH: Widow: 49: Born Cannock
Alice Sheridan: Dau: 17: Born Smallthorne
Lily Sheridan: Dau: 14: Born Hartshill
Thomas Sheridan: Son: 12: Born Smallthorne
[+ three boarders: John Malpass, Richard Gould and Charles Frederick Jones]
Have done a search for a marriage certificate, and the only likely hit seems to be:
Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire: 1st quarter 1900:
Priscilla Jellemer
Thomas Sheridan
A pre 1901 census search with Priscilla Jellemer has no hits, or at least none on FMP. I reckon that this is because of a different spelling being used for Jellemer?
So, can anyone help me with this?
Could Priscilla and Thomas have got married after having all of their children?
Or is it more likely that this is not Priscilla's first marriage, and that perhaps the children were not always Sheridan, but took Thomas' name when he married into the family?
And where could Thomas be in 1901 if Priscilla is listed as still married and not yet a widow?
Thank you so much in advance!!
