ARC....Adoption and killed in action

Hello
Can anyone help, I am new to this and have spent quite a while finding out not very much and generally going around in a giant circle!

I am trying to research my mothers past, she was adopted in January 1943 aged 1 month 3 weeks and 4 days old. She was born in Great Witchingham, Norfolk. Her biological mothers name was Joyce Mary Appleton and her biological fathers name was Joseph Fleming. They never married. Joseph was in one of two RAF squadrons and was presumed killed in action but I don't know how to distinguish which man he was and I cannot find any information on Joyce at all and as for making the connection between the two people, that is another mystery!

Could anyone give me any advice on what to do.

Many Thanks
Helen.

Many thanks for all the help.
The two men you have identified are the same two that I came up with but I don't know how to distinguish the correct man? My mother is still alive and I do have her birth cert as I applied for it but I'm not sure how to use the information to further my search.
Thanks for peoples time and efforts.
Helen.

There is nothing against Joseph Fleming except presumed killed in action. I am looking in to the address and I think I have located it. I will have to look at the local church for information.
