You will need to have access to one of the paid for genealogy sites. Your local library will probably have Ancestry and you can fill in his name, choose Marriage under the life events tab, put the date in the box, choose show advanced and pick 5 from the drop down and press search.

This will give you a list of possibles including:
Name: Neil A Reader
Spouse Surname: Wigg
Date of Registration: Nov 1984
Registration District: Tunbridge Wells
Inferred County: Kent
Volume Number: 16
Page Number: 1143

But there are others so knowing the bride's surname would be a help.
Currently investigating the Hillmans of Sussex.

There is an entry for a Neil A READER
Date of Registration NOV 1984
District : Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
Volume Number 16
Page Number 1143

SPouce NAme : Lynne D WIGG

you are best off ordering from the GRO direct.
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates
Ancestry charge double the price for simply ordering it from the GRO on your behalf.

You will need to register first. Then just follow the options, apply for Marriage certificate, you know the GRO information which is above, so check that box, put year 1984 in box and rest is self explanatory.
Hit a Brickwall? Have you lost all trace of someone? Do not despair, simply make a note they were abducted by aliens! Don't believe in aliens? No problem, just write them off as having disapeared in a time portal
